Vietjet Air, the largest airline by market share at Cam Ranh Airport Terminal 2, will commence direct flights to Busan starting on 16 Jul 2019. This new non-stop service adds a third new destination in Korea to Cam Ranh (CXR) Airport’s network. Busan (PUS) also represents the third new service launched by Vietjet Air this year, following Taipei and Macau.

Busan is South Korea’s second largest city and the economic, cultural and educational center of southeastern Korea. The appeal of Busan mainly comes from what it offers as a “city of yesterday,” full or arts and culture. It is a sharp contrast to Seoul’s modernity, but the vibrancy is still reflected in the variety of unique cuisines and convenience of shopping districts.

This new service from Cam Ranh is operated out of Cam Ranh Terminal 2, managed by Cam Ranh International Terminal (CRTC) JSC. “We are delighted for Vietjet Air to be the first airline offering the communities of Cam Ranh and Nha Trang one more gateway into Korea. It opens more opportunities to boost trade and tourism between the two economies, as well as expanding to yet another new destination in the international network of Cam Ranh Airport. We warmly welcome more Korean visitors to the fastest-growing beach destination in Vietnam,” a statement by the CRTC Management Board.

Cam Ranh Airport is connected to Korea via gateways in Seoul (Incheon), Daegu and now Busan. The first flight to PUS departs on 16th Jul 2019 at 23:40, arriving into PUS at 06:20 the next day while the return flight departs from PUS at 07:35 and arrives back at CXR around 10:15 on 17th July 2019. The CXR-PUS service is offered 4-times weekly, at different times of the day depending on the day of operation, and is operated by A320/A321 aircraft mix.

Starting Monday, 15 July 2019, the air connectivity between Cam Ranh (CXR) and Macau (MFM) will be further strengthened by Vietjet Air’s new scheduled charter flights. The budget-friendly airline, operating twice-weekly on Mondays and Fridays, complements the recently launched service by Bamboo Airways, effectively doubling the number of weekly flights from the beautiful coastal city of Nha Trang to Asia’s gaming capital of Macau. This service will be operated out of Terminal 2 at Cam Ranh Airport, operated by Cam Ranh International Terminal (CRTC) JSC.

The CRTC Management Board shares the excitement in having Vietjet Air launch their new service to Macau, its second new destination from CXR this year. “We are thrilled to have two of Vietnam’s fastest growing airlines providing capacity and convenience to Macau, launching services at the same time. CRTC is grateful for the investments by both airlines to promote the destinations in Nha Trang and Macau, as well as offering non-stop accessibility to the communities in Nha Trang and Macau. Operating on Mondays and Fridays, and on A320 aircraft, the outbound flight VJ 5518 departs CXR at 14:55 and arrives into MFM at 18:55 while the inbound flight VJ 5519 from MFM departs at 19:00 and arrives back into CXR at 20:15.

Cam Ranh International Terminal (CRTC) JSC is pleased to announce new scheduled charters from Cam Ranh (CXR) to Macau, China (MFM), operated by Bamboo Airways. This marks the first international flight by Bamboo Airways operating out of Terminal 2 at Cam Ranh Airport. Starting from 14th July 2019, Bamboo Airways will be flying twice weekly on Sundays and Thursdays, served by the carrier’s A321 aircraft.

Macau was a Portuguese colony for 300 years, a heritage marked by a wonderful hybrid of Chinese and Portuguese cultures. Visitors to Macau are treated to attractions such as beautiful Chinese temples built on maritime-themed Portuguese tiles, creative Chinese-sounding Portuguese street names as well as the delicious Chinese-blend Portuguese Egg-Tarts. More famously known as the 'Vegas of China', Macau is also the epicentre of gambling, glitz and luxury entertainment in the East.

Cam Ranh International Terminal Information

The International Terminal (T2) at Cam Ranh Airport, recently celebrated its first Anniversary on June 30, 2019. In the first 12-months of operations, T2 handled 5.87 million passengers, reflecting an increase of 29.1% compared to the previous 12-month period. A total of 28 international airlines call onto T2 as of 30 June 2019. Designed based on Skytrax 4-Star international standards, T2 covers a total area of 50,500 sqm, made up of dedicated levels for departure and arrival processing. The terminal building has a unique architecture inspired by the shape of a swallow’s nest, native to the Khanh Hoa Province, and the waves of Nha Trang Bay - a signature representation of the South Central Coast. T2 has 4 aerobridges and 10 boarding gates, as well as advanced equipment systems supplied by prestigious international companies.

Due in part to the outstanding marketing efforts, CXR T2 is experiencing a boom in traffic. And in anticipation of greater demand, Cam Ranh International Terminal (CRTC) Joint Stock Company is embarking on capacity enhancement works to further increase its handling capabilities to match to the phenomenal growths. In 2018, CXR T2 is the fourth largest airport in Vietnam in terms of international passenger volume.

As part of the 1st Anniversary activities, Cam Ranh International Terminal held a conference to the theme 'Strategy for the Improvement of Service & Quality at Terminal 2', in which presentations were made to showcase various initiatives at T2. The conference participants were from the aviation community at T2.

CRTC General Director Mrs Le Hong Thi Minh provided the opening speech and emphasized the importance of collaborating with partners and serving the community with a heart. A panel discussion with the airport leaders also served as insights to policies and the future of operations at Terminal 2.
