S7 Airlines To Launch Non-Stop Scheduled Service between Irkutsk and Cam Ranh on 28th November 2018

Cam Ranh, November 25th 2018.

Cam Ranh International Terminal (CRTC) and S7 Airlines (S7) jointly announce the launch of direct non-stop scheduled service starting on 28th November 2018, connecting the Russian city of Irkutsk to Cam Ranh, Vietnam.

Flights from Irkutsk (IKT) to Cam Ranh (CXR) will be initially operated twice-weekly on a 164-seater Airbus A320 aircraft with a flight time of 5hr 45mins. This service will depart from Irkutsk at 21:10 to arrive at CXR the next morning at 03:15 local time, with the return flight scheduled to depart at 04:30 and arrive at IKT at 12:20 local time.

With the launch of S7's IKT-CXR service, CRTC expects to handle more than 30,000 passengers per year from Irkutsk, opening up huge opportunities for business and tourism to the Province of Khanh Hoa and the surrounding regions. Tourists from Irkutsk can now enjoy direct access to the twin cities of Cam Ranh and Nha Trang, gateway to a stunning backdrop of white sandy beaches, verdant mountains, and a myriad of un-spoilt islands. CXR’s domestic network also connects to the beautiful cities of Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh and Danang.

“Vietnam is a new destination on S7 Airlines’ route map. Tourists, who prefer to spend winter holidays in summerly warm countries, enjoy Vietnam’s intact nature combined with well-developed infrastructure for water sports. We are glad to offer S7 Airlines passengers from Irkutsk an opportunity to travel directly to Cam Ranh International Terminal, situated right next to the popular Nha Trang resort. Later this year S7 Airlines will also connect Cam Ranh to Siberia’s capital – Novosibirsk”, Igor Veretennikov, Chief Commercial Officer of S7 Group, said.

From the CRTC Management Board, “We are pleased to welcome S7 Airlines, the first Oneworld global alliance carrier to operate to Cam Ranh. The S7 service from Irkutsk is also the first by any airline to provide scheduled commercial flights between Russia and Cam Ranh. This reinforces the strong economic ties between Russia and Khanh Hoa Province, especially in terms of tourism. We hope this is first of many new scheduled services to Cam Ranh since our organization opened the new International Passenger Terminal Building in June this year.”

Cam Ranh Airport is one of the fastest growing airports in terms of international passenger traffic among South-East Asian airports, registering a growth of 63% in 2017 to wrap up the year with 3.65 million international passengers. This year, CRTC is on target to exceed 5 million international passengers.
