Cam Ranh’s Air Connectivity to Bangkok Strengthened with New Thai Air Asia Service to Don Mueang
Starting 1 May 2019, Thai Air Asia will be offering 4 flights weekly connecting Cam Ranh Airport to Don Mueang Airport in Bangkok. This new service by Air Asia Group’s Thai subsidiary supplements the recently launched 4-weekly flights by Bangkok Airways in January 2019, effectively doubling the number of weekly flights offered by Cam Ranh Airport direct to the bustling city of Bangkok.
Thai Air Asia operates to Don Mueang Airport while Bangkok Airways operates at Suvarnabhumi Airport, both serving Bangkok, the City of Angels. At Cam Ranh Airport, Thai Air Asia will be served at the sleek and modern Terminal 2, managed by Cam Ranh International Terminal (CRTC) Joint Stock Company.
Bangkok is well-known for its fascinating culture, food and tourist attractions, including the temples of Wat Arun – The pagoda of Dawn, Wat Phra Kaew – The Royal Jade Buddha Pagoda, and Wat Pho – The oldest pagoda in Bangkok. Tasty Thai food can be sampled at street-side stalls and night markets such as Chatuchak but visitors can also enjoy Thai cuisine at some of the finest restaurants around Bangkok. Siam Paragon and Central World are two of the many shopping malls scattered around Bangkok where locals and tourists “shop until you drop”. Experience getting around the city on a tuk-tuk.
“We are honored for our airline partner Air Asia to further invest in Cam Ranh and Nha Trang by adding another strategic route, this time to Bangkok, less than two short years after initiating its maiden service from Kuala Lumpur. We hope that visitors to Bangkok as well as the twin cities of Cam Ranh and Nha Trang will enjoy the convenience of more direct services to major cities around this region, thanks to AirAsia’s fun and affordable flights,” a statement provided by CRTC Management Board.
AirAsia Head of Product, Indochina Ms. Laddawan Meesupwatana said: “In 2017, AirAsia made history as the first-ever airline to fly to Nha Trang from Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia and since that time the two destinations have been very well-received. This new direct flight between Nha Trang and Bangkok in Thailand will provide economic benefits for both countries, alongside fantastic connectivity for the Khanh Hoa people to discover Thailand, Asean and our more than 130 destinations across Asia Pacific.
This direct service will be operated on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays by a 180-seater Airbus A320.
